Residents of West Valley City, Magna, Taylorsville and Cottonwood, Utah fall within the boundaries of the Granite School District.
The Granite School District is committed to supporting educational programs that provide "superior education academically, culturally, socially and physically." They believe in instructing children in a safe, respectful manner while helping them improve their own self-worth.
The Granite School District is committed to continuous improvement of education for all Utah children within its boundaries, offering educational opportunities that coincide with each child's individual learning needs.
Granite School District realizes that they have a responsibility to teach Utah children values and citizenship while instructing them in their academic studies.
Utah's Granite School District puts learning first, helping children to grow and develop the skills that will help them to become successful. To ensure every child has the opportunity to excel at their own level, Granite School District has put a gifted and talented program into place.
Services offered to gifted and talented children in the state of Utah is determined per case, but just as services are offered for struggling children, those who excel academically are helped into programs to fit their needs.
Utah residents are devoted to the arts, so it's no wonder Granite school district puts emphasis on theater, art and music.
Granite School District believes:

Granite School District has put several programs into place to address the needs of individual students including Community of Caring, S.M.A.R.T. and Home Based Education, a program to allow for ongoing education when medical conditions require a student to miss out on classroom studies.

Education
Central to the education community is the Salt Lake Community College. More than 24,000 matriculated students from around the valley are taking courses. The Community College has the second largest student body in the Utah system of higher education.
